採訪上帝

我夢見自己在採訪上帝
你要採訪我嗎?上帝問
So you would like to interview me?
GOD asked.
 
「如果你有時間的話」
“If you have the time ”I said
 
上帝露出微笑…「我有永恆的時間」
“My time is eternity”
 
你想問我什麼問題?
“What questions do you have in mind for me?”
 
「人類有哪些事最令你驚訝?」
“What surprises you most about humankind?”
 
上帝回答…
God answered
 
「她們覺得童年很無聊，急著讓自己長大，然後又想回到童年。」
“That they get bored with childhood they rush to grow up. and then long to be children again”
 
「他們為了賺錢而失去健康，然後又花錢要找回健康。」
“That they lose their health to make money. and then lose their money to restore their health.”
 
「他們擔心的想著未來，卻忘了現在，因此既不是活在現在也不是活在未來。」
“That by thinking anxiously about the future they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future.”
 
他們活得好像永遠不會死，卻死得未曾活過ㄧ樣。
“That they live as if they will never die, and die as though had never lived.”
 
上帝握住我的手，我們靜坐了片刻。
God’s hand took mine… and we were silent for a while.
 
然後我問…
And then I asked,
 
「為人父的你，希望兒女明白哪些人生的功課?」
“As a parent what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”
 
上帝笑著回答…「明白不可能強迫人來愛他們，只能讓自己被愛」
“To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved.”
 
「明白跟別人比較是不好的。」
“To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.”
 
「明白饒恕是需要練習才能學會。」(明白用寬仁之心去寬恕他人)
“To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness .”
 
「明白揭開心愛之人的創傷只需要幾秒鐘，卻要花很多年才能痊癒」
“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them.”
 
「明白富人不是擁有最多的人，而是需要最少的人」
“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.”
 
「明白有些人很愛他們，只是不知道如何表達。」
“To learn that there are people who love them dearly, but simply do not get know to express or show their feelings.”
 
「明白兩個人看同ㄧ件事會有不同的看法。」
“To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.”
 
「明白光被人饒恕還不夠，自己必須饒恕自己。」
“To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves.”
 
「謝謝你花時間告訴我這些」
“Thank you for your time,” I said humbly.
 
「還有其他的什麼想讓您的孩子們知道嗎?」
“Is there anything else you’d like your children to know?”
 
上帝微笑說道…
God smiled and said…
 
「知道我和你們在一起」
“Just know that I an here.”
 
「永遠」
“Always.”
